Configuration Gauge - The PCE-RT 2300 Surface Tester is used to measure surface roughness.
This PCE-RT 2300 profiler features a removable motorized sensor. This property allows the surface roughness to be determined by the profile even on small or narrow profiles.
Measured values are displayed on the configuration's large LCD screen. This monitor is also used by the profiler. Profilometer is powered by an internal battery with voltage. This battery can be powered by a regular USB power adapter.
The removable motorized sensor is connected by cable to the main body of the profiler. The diamond pen is installed in the motorized sensor. This press has a maximum force of 4 mN on the surface from which the roughness profile will be measured. Profilometer measurements according to ISO, ANSI and JIS standards are valid for profilometer measuring instruments.

Rz = average roughness. The mean roughness depth Rz is the arithmetic mean of the maximum individual seam depth of a number of adjacent individual gauge sections.
Ra = arithmetic mean roughness. Ra is an internationally recognized and applied roughness parameter. This is the arithmetic mean of the absolute values of the configuration deviations in the reference line. The measured value Ra is always less than the value of Rz determined on the same roughness profile.
Rt = maximum roughness. Maximum surface roughness Rt is the distance between the highest point and the lowest point of the measuring part.
Rq = Square Mean Roughness. Rq is the root mean square of all coordinate values in the individual measured distance l. Rq corresponds to specified RMS (Root Mean Square).
