The IPR Basic3 fully automatic digital refractometer continuously measures the index of refraction and thus the concentration of solids in solution.

  • The iPR Basic 3 fully automatic process refractometer continuously measures the refractive index and therefore the concentration of solids in solution or the mixing ratio of binary or semi-binary liquid mixtures.
  • The measurement of this professional iPR B³ automatic digital refractometer is independent of the process atmosphere, turbidity, color of process solution and LED light intensity.
  • The instrument is free from signal drift, ensuring the highest accuracy and better process control. Inline real-time measurement takes place over a period of > 1 s.
  • The iPR Basic 3 direct refractometer replaces the well-known iPR Basic 2 models. The standalone process sensor with integrated electronics ranks in the SCHMIDT + HAENSCH process refractometer range between the compact iPR C and the full range iPR FR² model. New sensor with measuring range up to 90% Brix (refractive index 1.52) suitable for almost all applications in the food and pharmaceutical industry, but also for many processes in the mechanical field and automotive engineering as well as chemistry.
  • The sensor’s stainless steel housing is partially fitted with an air-cooled, blue anodised aluminum housing. This cooling jacket protects electronic components against overheating at process temperatures up to 80°C / 176°F when the sensor is turned off.
  • Special design and electronics make the refractometer very flexible and easy to control. The device is programmed through software based on WINDOWS. Two digital limit switches (up to 1 A) allow the user to directly activate valves for example and control the magnetic valves for prism cleaning.
  • The IPR Bascic 3 Automatic Digital Refractometer can be installed in pipelines, mixing tanks, reaction vessels and tanks using a variety of welding flanges. The preferred process connection is VariVent. The advantage of this process connection in pipelines is that, depending on the process, a cleaning element for the measuring prism can be refitted at any time. In addition to the well-known steam or water-based cleaning devices, SCHMIDT + HAENSCH offers ultrasonic cleaning specially developed for particularly sensitive processes.
